A TYPICAL WEEK:
This is a leadership role within the commercial real estate financing team. As the Manager, Commercial Real Estate Lending, you will lead a dynamic group of Commercial Analysts, responsible for contributing to the management & growth of our commercial mortgage / construction loan portfolios, providing support, advice and guidance to clients and referral sources while playing a key role in the development of Commercial Lending staff.
KEY REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Origination – A key requirement will be experience in originating commercial real estate and construction loans. Ideally the jobholder will have an established referral network in Atlantic Canada but should be able to demonstrate experience in developing and maintaining one.
CMHC experience – our team are active in the origination and servicing of CMHC insured multi residential housing loans, including the acquisition of loan portfolios for securitization. The job holder will be expected to have, or quickly develop, a full understanding of CMHC criteria pertaining to the insurance of multi residential real estate financing.
Leadership – We are committed to developing members of our team. As an experienced people leader, you will help to guide and develop members of our team to improve their capabilities and help them achieve.
Portfolio Management – In conjunction with the Director, Commercial & Lending Services, the job holder will manage the commercial real estate loan portfolio which will include ensuring loans are an acceptable risk and within guidelines and policy, completing annual reviews, managing and delinquency and recovery activities.
Credit Adjudication – The role will require the ability to adjudicate on commercial real estate loan and construction loan applications. Credit experience is therefore considered an asset.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
As an experienced commercial real estate lender, the Manager, Commercial Real Estate Lending will have successfully completed a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Finance or a related discipline plus have ten (10) years Commercial real estate lending/underwriting experience; or equivalent combination of training & experience. An accomplished business developer with an existing referral network, and/or with the ability and skills required to build one. Previous experience in leading a team.
COMPENSATION:
This is a permanent full time position and is rated a Salary Level CU-10 ($108,909 – $128,128). Atlantic Central offers a competitive benefits package as well as the opportunity to participate in the Performance Sharing Incentive Plan.
LOCATION:
The position offers the flexibility of working from home but is required to be located close In NB or NS to align with our business development focus.
TRAVEL, EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK:
This position requires occasional travel.
